One of the last horses I drew using Pan Pastel and Coloured Pencils on Saunders Waterford HP paper
11 x 15"

In the Thick of it

The is my latest portrait titled 'In the thick of it'

Created using PanPastels and Coloured Pencils on Saunders Waterford HP

11 x 15"

I really enjoyed this 1 I had left the preliminary sketch sitting on my drawing board for months as I had suddenly found a love for painting in oils but as I am limited on space to store canvas board, I decided to slow myself down a bit and set to work on this peice and I couldn't stop, that's how it goes sometimes

Every new piece I start, I stive to be better than the last one I created and I belive I didi that with this piece.

This is the reference photo I worked from, from public domain on Pixabay.

This was the first time I really tried a full background in colour because the greens bring out the colour of the horse and make it pop.
